While I was home over the holidays I spent a couple days recording with James Oldenburg at his GPS studios. We recorded ‘Teeth Like A Chainsaw’ with James and working with him was another incredibly fun and positive experience. Thanks a lot amigo!

The new recording will be released in May (early June at the latest) and will consist of a few Turncoats redux, an Okinawan folk song and some brand spankin new tunes. I can’t wait to have it finished and see what everybody thinks of it. If all goes according to plan I will be having a CD Release party at The Slice on Sunday, July 12th. Stay tuned for more information.

We are choked and lumpy hearted to announce that our second last gig in Lethbridge is coming up this Friday, July 8th at The Slice Bar And Grill . This is a burn out kinda affair rather than a fade out though and we’re planning on a full out rocker to keep you on your feet. Plus, we’ve got the good fortune to be joined by none other than The Vespas!

Alrighty then, we’ll see you this Friday at The Slice! When there’s Shhhhhhhhhazam to be had you gotta get out there and grab it by the throat!

Firstly, Andy’s song ‘River Of Tears’ has been accepted into the finals of the 2007 Calgary Folk Fest Songwriting Contest. Last year Andy, Precious Paul and GuitArlen took home the prize for Best Performance, (for ‘Artillery’), so we’re going in with some high hopes! The competition is fierce this year as we’ll be up against some of Alberta’s finest including: Michael Bernard Fitzgerald , Scott MacLeod , and John Wort Hannam!

Update! Andrew’s song, ‘River Of Tears’, came in 2nd at the contest. A video will be posted shortly.
Secondly, The Turncoats are going to be doing a mini Alberta tour at the end of May! EEEEEEEEEEEp!
